Alike's Offsite Vaulting
Offsite Vaulting is a powerful business continuity feature included with Alike DR Edition.
With Offsite Vaulting you can maintain a complete set of historical backup data for your VMs in a physically separate/remote system.
Because Vaulting leverages Alike's global deduplication technology, it can provide tremendous savings for both bandwidth and storage.
In the event of a disaster at the primary site, Offsite Vaulting will easily and quickly allow you to restore and rebuild your virtual infrastructure from your backup history.

How Offsite Vaulting Works
To setup Alike's Offsite Vaulting, you simply install the Offsite Module on your destination system. This can be nearly any Windows system with sufficient storage. Then, from your "Onsite" installation of Alike, you simply 'vault enable' which ever backup jobs you like. This automatically causes Alike to replicate the VMs' backup data at the end of each job. The transferred data is deduplicated, compressed and encrypted, as it is streamed to the waiting Offsite Module for storage.
Then, once the need arises, you can restore your VMs directly from the Offsite module. The Offsite Module allows you to restore directly to XenServer (if one is available), or even to a portable OVA/OVF archive. You even have our near instant File Level Restore available to you from your offsite location.
Offsite Vaulting is simple to setup and configure, and once up and running, it is completely managed from your normal onsite Alike installation, just like your other backup and replication jobs.
