Alike's Enhanced VM Replication
Enhanced Replicate (ER) is a powerful business continuity feature included with Alike DR Edition.
With ER you can efficiently replicate and synchronize one or more VMs from one XenServer host to another on a scheduled basis, regardless of the storage type.
Because ER only sends the delta data from the running VM, it can effciently replicate even under low bandwidth scenarios.
In the event of a disaster at the primary site, Alike's Enhanced Replicate provides you with an up to date replica of your VM that can be powered on at a moment's notice.
Enhanced Replicate's Key Features:
- Extremely simple to configure
- Works seemlessly with dissimilar storage, version and even editions of XenServer
- Allows replicted VMs to be cold or warm standby
- Requires close to zero temporary storage for the replication processing
- Optional single pass backup and replicate allows both forms of protection at the same time
- Supports "failback" to the original host
How Enhanced Replication Works
Alike's Enhanced Replication leverages the same ABD (Alike Backup Delegate) technology that powers our backup and recovery processes. The ABD's deduplication engine transfers only the changed data directly from one ABD to the other, with no temporary storage required.
